Tony is in contact with many of the UK’s best jazz and classical musicians and singers and can always produce a high-quality lineup, from solo guitar through to duos, trios, quartets, quintets and big bands
Tony’s bands have a repertoire of hundreds of standard jazz songs, Latin tunes and dance music. They will happily play requests, and are great sight readers and improvisers. In particular, Tony and some of his musicians also enjoy playing jazz renditions of British and Irish jigs, reels and country dances.

Duncan Eagles – Saxophone
Duncan Eagles won the Spike Robinson Saxophone Scholarship at the age of 18 when he was studying with Jean Toussaint and Russel Van Den Berg at Trinity College Of Music. Since then, Duncan has been seen performing regularly along side some of the top names on the UK jazz scene including Gary Husband, Mornington Lockett, Jason Rebellow and Sax Appeal. At 21, Duncan became involved with Tomorrow’s Warriors and was a featured soloist with Shabaka Hurching’s Splay. Duncan is also a member of Ola Onabule’s touring band, regularly performing at major jazz festivals in Europe and American. Duncan is currently writing and performing with Partikel who were featured as part of Dune Records’ Young Composers series last summer. Partikel have released highly acclaimed CDs and toured the UK where they were featured at the Brecon and Malborough Jazz Festivals.
Ben Gilbert – Piano
Pianist Ben Gilbert is an experienced arranger, composer, performer and tutor. He is currently lecturing in Music at St Mary’s University, Twichenham and working as musicial director on serveral shows. He performs regularly with The Fiona Stein Quartet, singer and composer Patsy Burn and is developing material for his ensemble.
Max Luthert – Bass
Max Luthert is a young hungry musician who has quickly gained a reputation for his sense of rhythm and feel, influenced by his mentors Mike Janisch, Steve Watts and as of late Tom Mason. Max continues to impress audiences and show what dedication and a focused approach to music can achieve.
Max Luthert is one of the most in demand young jazz bassists in the UK. He is a member of the Ronnie Scott’s House Band and is particularly pleased to have opened for bass legend Ron Carter as part of the Jazz Wise anniversary festival. Max is also a member of Partikel and the Andy Davies Quintet, the Mark Perry Sextet and the Peter Edwards Trio. He plays in Zara McFarlane’s touring band and other groups around London. Along with Ronnie Scott’s, Max has played Pizza Express Jazz Club, 606 Club, The Bull’s Head and The King’s Place.
Sophie Alloway – Drums
Sophie Alloway is a busy freelance drummer working in a variety of settings for many different artists. She has toured the UK, Australia and New Zealand with Roots Manuva and performed on Later With Jools Holland, Mercury Music Prize, BBC Introducing and played festivals such as Glastonbury and Bestival. Sophie has also toured with the Michael Jackson musical Thriller and her drumming has been heard on Jazz FM and BBC 1Xtra. Sophie has also played on numerous jazz, Latin, rock, soul, hip hop and pop recordings and has gigged with Dill Katz, Michael Mondesir, Ugo Delmirani, John Critchinson, Alex Hutton, Mornington Locket, Dave O’Higgins, George Melly, Vasilis Xenopoulos and numerous other jazz artists.
James Eaton – Piano
Pianist James Eaton is a graduate of the Middlesex University Jazz Course and plays in the Dan Spanner Big Band. James also leads his own organ trio.
Chris Nickolls – Drums
Since Graduationg from London College of Music and Media in 2004 Chris has become actively involved in many different projects playing a variety of styles including jazz, world, funk, pop and rock. At the moment he is playing with saxophonist Vasilis Xenopoulos, singer Katriona Taylor and has just recorded an album with Clara Belle.
